Overview

                                             Botany is an important branch of Biology or Life sciences, that has very good opportunities in the fields of academics, research having very good employment options. The Department of the Botany was established in the year 1983. At present having 3 regular teaching positions catering the academic needs of the student community studying Botany as one of the optional subjects in their Programme. The department is handling the B.Sc. Programme in CBCS pattern with Botany, Zoology & Chemistry combination (B.Z.C.) in both media, Biotechnology, Botany & Chemistry combination (Bi.B.C) in English medium and Microbiology, Botany & Chemistry combination (Mi.B.C) in English medium. The Department is also offering a PG programme, M.Sc., Botany course in CBCS pattern.

                                            The Department striving hard in encouraging the students of Botany in building the good academic career with the required curricular inputs and by organising co-curricular activities like Student seminars, Quiz Programmes, On line plays like “Kahoot” and Field visits. The Students of Botany are also encouraged to participate in the Extra-curricular activities organised by NSS, NCC and other different clubs / cells of the college.
