Overview

                        Political Science is called as the Master of all Social sciences (Aristotle). The Department of Political Science was started with the establishment of the College in the academic year 1983-84. B.A.(H.E.P.) Group with Telugu and English medium was commenced with a modest strength of 50 students during the academic year 1983-84. Smt. C.Kuppamma was the first faculty member in the Department. At the beginning the intake of the Department was 60 in Telugu medium and 15 English medium. In the academic year 2003-04.  B.A. (E.P.T) group was started with an intake of 60 students. The student of Political Science studies Political Theory, Indian Government and Politics, Indian Polity, Indian Political Thought, Western Political Thought, Public Administration, International Relations, Indian Foreign Policy, Contemporary Global Issues. The Political Science studied student can join M.A.in Political Science, M.A. in Public Administration, M.A. in International Relations, M.A. in Public Policy, Bachelor of Law, B.Ed., Journalism & Mass Communication etc. 

                     The Political Science students have plenty of opportunities in different fields. They join Teaching, Law, News agencies of Press, Report generation departments of electronic Media, News paper agencies for analytical writing, Political Analyst, Research, Election Campaign Management, Political Consultancy, Political Leaders, Political Advisors, N.G.Os, Civil Services both UPSC and SPSCs and other all competitive exams. At the Intermediate level Science, Commerce and Arts students are eligible to join B.A., HEP and EPT.
